A very good Sunday evening to my dear students of 3/8...

During R3 day yesterday, I witnessed the great passion and enthusiasm from everyone present - the ingredient to success that had gone missing since the Sports Carnival in Term 1. The smiles despite the sweat, the honest hard work you all put in despite obvious fatigue, the spirit of voluntarism when I had asked for some of you to stay behind a little longer... does make me wonder what if you could all channel such energies to your studies instead?

My first duty to the class is that of an AFT and it was indeed disturbing when your MYE results started filtering in to me. I do believe many of you are also very disappointed by your performance, perhaps even very discouraged... and for some, self-doubt will start to creep in...

But I urge you not to look back anymore. The passage of time is uni-directional and whatever that has happened should serve as a reminder to how we should move forward from here.

Look yourself in the eye and accept the responsibility for having done badly this time round. Give no excuses, such as 'I am born stupid' or 'I studied very hard already!'...

Nobody is born knowing Logarithms, Chemical Equations or the implications of Electronic Road Pricing on society.

How well we do in examinations is dependent on how intently we pay attention in class, how mature we are in handling the various distractions in our lives and how much time we spend on our daily revisions and assignments... Do you honestly think you have done enough over the term to deserve better results?
